Speaker: Bethany Venegoni, Taft Law

Speaker Bio: Bethany is an attorney at Taft Law, focusing her practice on Employment and Benefits Law. Representing clients across industries, she brings an interdisciplinary approach to helping leaders navigate the employer-employee relationship and administering benefit programs. Bethany serves as the first call for many businesses to advise on accommodations, discipline and discharge, applicable leave laws, COBRA requirements, and councils on many other time-sensitive employment and benefit situations. Between calls with clients, Bethany also supports employers by drafting, reviewing, and interpreting agreements, policies, and plan documents.

Course Description: The presentation will educate brokers on the Minnesota Paid Family Leave Act, also referred to as Minnesota Paid Leave. The course will provide intent of the statute. Attendees will learn about the State Plan vs Private Plans and review of the penalties for Non-compliance.
